  • HOUSE BILL 5's FOUNDATION HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM

    The Class of 2018 and beyond will graduate under House Bill 5's Foundation + Endorsement + Distinguished Level of Achievement Plan, BCISD's prescribed graduation plan. Students must successfully complete all of the required courses, fulfill the requirements for an endorsement, and pass five EOC exams.


    BCISD Graduation Prescribed Graduation Plan

    4 English Credits (English I, English II, English III, Adv English)

    4 Math Credits (Algebra I, Geometry, Adv Math, Adv Math)

    4 Science Credits (Biology, IPC or Chemistry, 2 Adv Sciences)

    4 Social Sciences Credits (World Geography, World History, US History, Government (0.5), and Economics (0.5)

    2 Credits of a Language Other Than English (Spanish I & II)

    1 Fine Art Credit

    1 PE Credit

    1 Speech Credit

    5.0 Elective Credits (Includes 4 Endorsement Courses)


    Students must choose and meet the requirements for at least one endorsement area:
         -Arts & Humanities
         -Business & Industry
         -Public Service
         -STEM
         -Multidisciplinary

     

     

    End-of-Course Exams
    Students must pass five end-of-course exams:
         -English I 9th
         -Algebra I 9th
         -Biology 9th
         -English II 10th
         -US History 10th
